Interesting read. I never knew why half roof vehicles existed until now.

I don't get it at all either. I think they are truly horrific. Interestingly, the idea of carrying over old stylistic cues that are no longer functional happens all the time in architecture for example fake columns, fake windowpanes, fake chimneys, etc. Perhaps its over abundance in building design is the result of buildings having longer life cycles than automobiles?
